Club Boat Usage Policy

The sailing club owns five RS Fevas and one Topper for race use.

The boats will be made available to junior squad sailors for training events, club racing and open events. The allocation of boats will be decided by the coaches taking each training session with help from the Junior Sub Committee. Any use of the boats must be agreed with the Junior Sub Committee in advance. The boats will be rotated between the junior squad sailors to ensure all get to use the boats equally on a rota basis.

It is the responsibility of each sailor using a club boat to make sure that the boat is properly cared for:

  1. The boat should not be dragged up the beach unless on a trolley.
  2. The boat should not be left unattended with its sails up.
  3. When launching and recovering care should be taken to avoid the boat hitting the bottom. This should apply to centreboards and rudders as well.
  4. When sailing collisions should be avoided.
  5. If damage that does occur, or if maintenance is required, this should be reported asap to the club professional by writing the details in the book on the training office door so that repairs can be made.
